Micropolis Cities 1

Description

Cities as a form of art? Why not? Here are four radically different cities I built in Micropolis (a.k.a. the open-source version of SimCity Classic). They're all released under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike terms (CC BY-SA). Enjoy, if you will.

UPDATE 1 (2011/09/18): Added fire stations to Concrete Jungle, as the danger that fire poses to the city was deemed too great to ignore. Prior to this update, the entire city would literally be destroyed if a fire started.

Summaries:

Circula: A ridiculous village I built for fun. Completely encircles a large island by building on the surrounding small islands, but doesn't actually build anything on the large island itself.
Concrete Jungle: A vast metropolis built on completely-flat terrain. It has some glaringly-obvious problems (mainly the fact that you have to either slash funding or restructure the city in order to make any income), but it was still fun to build anyway. Inspired by Metropolis, a similar city included with the game SimCity 3000.
Good Gracious: A great example of how not to build a city, unless you're a sadist. Amazingly-enough, the approval rating was about 30% the last time I checked it.
Nova Southpac: This is an example of a city I built by stealing another city's terrain through repeated flooding. The original city was Southpac, which is included with Micropolis by default.
